Mission & Vision

A Vibrant Spiritual Hindu Community Centre & Hub

Established in 1972, Hindu Temple Burnaby is one of Canada’s largest and oldest Hindu temples, officially registered as the Hindu Cultural Society and Community Centre of B.C. What began as a small prayer hall in North Burnaby has grown into a vibrant spiritual and cultural hub. In response to the growing Hindu community, our Board of Directors envisioned a larger space, leading to the grand opening of a 31,000 sq. ft. temple in January 2018. Today, we welcome up to 1,600 devotees, offering daily prayer services, Ganesh Hindi School, Geeta classes, Yoga and wellness classes, seniors support, spiritual discourses, meditation, music, and community celebrations. We host major Hindu festivals, weddings, birthdays, and cultural events, fostering devotion, learning, and unity. Join us in celebrating faith, tradition, and service at Hindu Temple Burnaby.

As the Hindu community flourished, the need for a larger temple became evident. Inspired by the vision of our Board of Directors, a state-of-the-art temple was constructed, welcoming devotees in January 2018. Spanning 31,000 square feet, the modern Hindu Temple Burnaby accommodates up to 1,600 worshippers, offering daily puja services, religious ceremonies, and community programs that enrich lives.
